Medicare in Australia is the publicly funded universal health care system that provides eligible Australian residents with access to a wide range of health care services at low or no cost.

Who Is Eligible? 

• Australian citizens 

• Permanent residents 

• Some visa holders (e.g. those under reciprocal health care agreements)
